Mysticism

The Prophet Muhammad encouraged his companions to learn from his words and deeds. Recorded in memory and sometimes written down, sayings and parables of the Prophet's life, known as Hadith, began to accumulate and spread among his followers.

Every Hadith has been traced back to the Prophet Muhammad over the centuries through a well examined chain of narrators, each of whom has been verified as an honorable scholar.

With such a careful history supporting the Hadith, many consider them to be authoritative and perfect, enabling a real connection with the Prophet himself.

"There is a beautiful rendering of a Hadith of the Prophet Mohammad which is the center of all Sufism: I was an unknown treasure and I loved to be known. And in order to do this I became, in the consciousness of all beings, the subject of my self-discovery; and, in the nature of all beings, the object of my self-discovery.Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan
