Mysticism

The mosque is the house of payer in the Islamic faith. There are two types of mosques: the masjid and the jama’a. The masjid, or place of prostration, is the smaller and more common of the two. The larger mosque is the jama’a, and is where the Friday congregational prayer is performed, and is often beautifully adorned. There are few rules about how a mosque should be built, but they should face the Ka’ba in Mecca, as this is direction Muslims around the world face to pray.
